Everett City FC opens its season at its new home arena, Arena Sports, hosting cross-county rival Snohomish Sky. Everett enters the match following a 3–1 road loss to the Tacoma Stars in Week 1.

“We were on a bye for Week 2, but this will be a great test to see how we bounce back from our Week 1 loss at Tacoma. The game went exactly how we anticipated — competitive, elite play — and ultimately came down to who took advantage of their opportunities,” Everett co-owner Angel Herrera said. “It is very difficult to hold Tacoma to a shutout in a quarter, let alone three-quarters of a game, which we managed to do with the second quarter being where all the action took place. Our players showed the capability of rising to the standard of soccer we want to play.”

The Sky entered at 1–0 after a season-opening road win over the Vancouver Lightning.

“I felt we had a great effort from the squad in our matchup against the Lightning in the first game of the season. It was a long road trip, and we have new players and a new lineup,” Sky coach James Doherty said. “The team battled hard all four quarters. We saw solid execution and learned what we need to keep building on. We are excited for what’s ahead.”

South Sound FC, coming off a 1–0 win over last season’s runners-up, Bellingham United, travels to Tacoma to take on the undefeated Tacoma Stars Reserves in what should be a high-energy early-season showdown.

Tacoma is riding momentum after a dominant 10–0 win last weekend.

“This weekend’s game will be competitive, fast-paced, and action-packed. I’m expecting them to bring their best, and we are going to have to match the intensity if we want a result,” Stars Reserves head coach Skylar Roeh said. “It should be a great game with plenty of action. We’ll be looking to give the fans our best performance and maintain our winning ways.”
