WISL Men’s Week in Review — Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025
Three games. 36 total goals. Indoor soccer remains undefeated at refusing to be boring.
Below is a fan-friendly recap of what happened game-by-game.

Game 1: South Sound FC 10, Vancouver Storm 6
South Sound came out breathing fire and hung five in the 1st quarter to build a 5–2 lead. Vancouver kept landing punches, but South Sound kept answering—and then stacked three more in the 2nd to make it 8–2 before the Storm could reset.
Vancouver made the scoreline look more “normal” with a 4-goal 4th quarter, but South Sound’s lead was too big to erase.
Big performers
#9 Derek Johnson (SSFC): hat trick (3 goals)
#10 Craig Johnson (SSFC): 2 goals (including the early tone-setter)
#11 Jaisen Zurfluh (SSFC): 2 goals, and was involved all over the scoring sheet
#6 Isaac Vargas (VAN): 2 goals (both late)
#14 Jared Armenta-Reyes (VAN): 2 goals (sparked the 4th quarter push)
Coach check
South Sound FC: Pierre Vargas (Head Coach)
Vancouver Storm: Peter Valdez (Head Coach)
Game 2: Oly-Pen Force 4, Bellingham United 3
This one was a chess match compared to the other two. Oly-Pen struck first on a power play (Kolby Juarez), and the teams traded leads and equalizers through the 2nd.
In the 3rd, Bryan Weathington put Oly-Pen up 4–2, and Bellingham clawed within one late on another power play finish from Judah Straight… but couldn’t find the equalizer.
Big performers
#2 Bryan Weathington (PEN): clutch 3rd-period goal to make it 4–2, which ended up being the difference.
#99 Kolby Juarez (PEN): opened the scoring on the power play — the kind of early strike that changes how both benches manage the game.
#67 Jaeger Skifstad (PEN): goal + impact moments (finished the go-ahead sequence in the 2nd to put Oly-Pen back in front).
#9 Richard Henderson (BEL): power-play goal to tie it 2–2, plus steady leadership as Bellingham kept answering back.
#22 Judah Straight (BEL): late power-play goal (with an assist from #24 Ale Tomasi) to pull within one.
Coach check
Bellingham United: Richard Henderson (Head Coach)
Oly-Pen Force: Coaching staff listed as TR Jewett / Jason Jarrett (Coaches) + Micah McMonagle (GM)
Discipline note: A pair of dissent yellows at 6:45 in the 3rd (one per side) plus multiple 6th-foul blues—this one had real edge.
Game 3: Everett City FC 8, Tacoma Stars Reserves 5
Everett jumped to 2–0 in the 1st and stayed in front most of the way. Tacoma fought back repeatedly (including goals from Bastos and Prado-Huerta), but Everett kept responding—especially on special teams.
Big performers
#18 Fernando Tavares (EVE): hat trick (3 goals)
#17 Adan Fernandez (EVE): 2 goals + an assist (involved in multiple momentum swings)
#9 Itamar Bastos (TAC): 2 goals… but also a red card for abusive language in the 3rd, which matters a lot in a 3-goal game.
Coach check
Tacoma Stars Reserves: Skyler Roehr (Head Coach)
Everett City FC: Not listed.
Turning point: Everett’s power play goals in the 3rd (Whitaker, then Fernandez) created separation right when Tacoma was threatening to flip the match.
