Tacoma Galaxy, Snohomish Sky Set for 2026 WISL Women’s Championship
The Tacoma Galaxy have punched their ticket to the Western Indoor Soccer Women’s League (WISLW) championship and will face the Snohomish Sky this Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Snohomish Sports Dome. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and fans are expecting a high-energy matchup between two of the league’s top teams.
“In the second year of the WISLW, we saw some really great competition and watched our teams raise their level in all aspects,” said WISLW Commissioner John Crouch. “The final comes back to Snohomish for a showdown between the league’s top teams, both of whom traded wins and losses during the regular season. I am very much looking forward to a great final and continuing to push the women’s indoor game forward in the region.”
The Galaxy, who finished the regular season 5-1 and second via tiebreakers, reached the finals after a 13-6 victory over Bellingham United on Feb. 7. Tacoma’s scoring was led by Nikayla Milby, who tallied six goals during the contest, netting twice in the first quarter, twice in the third, and twice in the fourth. Jordyn Bartleson contributed two power-play goals, while Alyssa Andrews scored twice. Peyton Chick added two fourth-quarter goals, and Ashlyn Armstrong contributed a goal in the second quarter. Multi-goal performers for Tacoma included Milby (6), Bartleson (2), Andrews (2), and Chick (2).
“It means a lot to the ladies and the entire organization,” said Tacoma Galaxy head coach Alexander Caceres Quintero. “Everyone wants to make it to the final and experience that moment because, for some, it may be a once-in-a-lifetime and truly unique experience in their lives.”
Quintero, who also serves as team captain for the Tacoma Stars of the Major Arena Soccer League, noted that the hardest part of the season was being unable to attend the final due to a scheduling conflict with his own team’s game. Despite the disappointment, he expressed confidence in his staff and players. Owner Scott Nall was recognized for his leadership and effort throughout the season, ensuring the team performed professionally at all times.

Snohomish Sky, who finished first in the league with a 5-1 record, advanced to the championship following a commanding 16-1 semifinal win over Oly-Pen Force. The Sky dominated from the start, with Anna Roslander opening the scoring, followed by goals from Danielle Strumbeta, Elina Seppala, Anne Ferguson, Chalise Baysa, and Mariah Biegaj, giving the Sky a 6-0 lead by the end of the first period. Mily Morton added a goal early in the second to make it 7-0. In the third period, Strumbeta and Liv Larson scored again, and Mckenzie Buell added two more goals. Strumbeta and Buell each scored again later in the third, bringing the score to 12-1 after an Oly-Pen Force penalty kick. In the fourth period, Mariah Biegaj, Maia Lowell, Liv Larson, and Elina Seppala each contributed goals, completing the 16-1 victory. Multi-goal performers for Snohomish included Strumbeta (3), Seppala (2), Biegaj (2), and Buell (2)

“Honestly, every season is special because it’s a great group of players our staff gets to coach, so we never look at one season as better than another,” said Sky coach Craig Otto. “Every season is a new season. The goal from day one is always to finish at the top so we can host and compete in the championship game. This year, with the champion earning a trip to Nationals in Las Vegas, that’s been an extra motivating factor for the team.”
Otto added, “Making the championship game again is a huge moment for our players, our fans, and our community. It means a lot to the players. It reflects the work the ladies have put in and the belief that the players have in each other. It’s a great opportunity to represent Snohomish as well.”
The upcoming WISLW Women’s Championship promises an exciting matchup between two of the league’s most talented teams. Tacoma Galaxy will visit the Snohomish Sky at the Snohomish Sports Dome on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., in a game that is expected to deliver fast-paced, high-scoring action. Fans are encouraged to attend and witness the culmination of a season defined by skill, teamwork, and determination.
