NWPLi and WISL Announce Merger and Launch of Women's Indoor Soccer League
Tacoma, WA– The Northwest Premier League Indoor (NWPLi) and the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) are excited to announce their official merger, forming a unified front for indoor soccer in the Pacific Northwest. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the WISL will now include a dedicated women's league, marking a significant milestone in the region's soccer landscape.
Unified League Structure
With the merger, the WISL website will host all league results, stats, news, and media for both men's and women's leagues on a single platform. The women's league will be branded as WISLw, while the men's league will be WISLm.
This streamlined approach ensures consistency in media coverage and top-level league promotion, enhancing the visibility and accessibility of both leagues.
"We believe this merger will be highly beneficial for teams, referees and fans" said John Snyder, Head of Officiating and Competition." By unifying under the WISL banner, we can provide a more cohesive and streamlined on field game experience and streamline efficiencies in scheduling."

Leadership and Management
The management structure of the WISL will largely remain intact, ensuring continuity and stability:
- John Crouch will continue as Commissioner of the WISL men's league and oversee all outward-facing content creation for both leagues.
- Bill Wright will continue as President in the newly formed WISLw.
- Micah McMonagle will remain Commissioner of the WISL women's league.
- John Snyder will lead the officiating for both leagues, maintaining the same rules as the men's league and building a team to support efficient and effective refereeing. John will continue to create connections for our officials to the next level (MASL).
"The launch of WISLw is a monumental step forward" said Micah McMonagle, Commissioner of the WISL women's league. "It demonstrates our commitment to promoting women's indoor soccer and providing equal opportunities for all players."
Coordinated Media Efforts
To ensure focused and effective media coverage, the WISL will have dedicated media personnel for both the men's and women's leagues with unified content management. To achieve this Ryan Perkins has joined the WISL front office as Communication Director helping design and deliver social media coverage, league wide promotion and web content management.
This hire and strategic approach aims to avoid overburdening individual staff members and to maintain high-quality, engaging content for all audiences. Perkins comes to the WISL having managed all creative content and execution of marketing efforts for the Artesians in Olympia, WA for the last three years, escalating their online presence and branding.

Looking Ahead
A new website is in development to host all WISL content, and the NWPLi website will redirect to this new site, ensuring a seamless transition for all users. This consolidated digital presence will make it easier for fans to stay up-to-date with league news, match results, and player statistics.
"We are thrilled about the future of indoor soccer in the Pacific Northwest" said John Crouch, Commissioner of the WISL men's league. "This merger and launch of the women's league signify our dedication to growing the sport and supporting our athletes, lots of fun to come with both leagues collaborating."
